If you are a webmaster or site creator, you have to make sure that the site content reaches your target audience. One way of doing that is by carefully assigning title tags as well as meta descriptions and keywords to your web pages. Now you might be thinking what meta tags are and why it is useful for site or blog? Here's your answer.....

A meta tag is a tag (that is, a coding statement) in the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) that describes some aspect of the contents of a Web page. The information that you provide in a meta tag tag is used by search engines to index a page so that someone searching for the kind of information the page contains will be able to find it. The meta tag is placed near the top of the HTML in a Web page as part of the heading.

There are several kinds of meta tags, but the most important for search engine indexing are the keywords meta tag and the description meta tag. The keywords meta tag lists the words or phrases that best describe the contents of the page. The description meta tag includes a brief one- or two-sentence description of the page. Both the keywords and the description are used by search engines in adding a page to their index. Some search engines also use the description to show the searcher a summary of the page's contents.

Although most search engines do not even consider the keyword meta tag, having the right meta tags in your pages can get them listed with a higher placement in the search engines and allow you to track how effective they are. Many search engines do read them. Keyword phrases that your visitors have typed in to the search engines to find your site should be listed.

Though Blogger is a Google product, blogs hosted on blogger do not have support for meta descriptions and keywords by default. If you have ever tried adding keywords or description meta tags to your Blogger pages, you might have seen that there is no easy way of implementing that. Here is a workaround to make changes to your blogger template in order to add description and keyword meta tags of your choice to your blogger top page as well as to your posts.

The first step for any site builder wanting to optimize their pages would be to analyze your statistics to see who is finding your site by keyword through the search engines. Any good stats will tell you this. Then you simply rewrite your page to include a keyword density of about 3 to every 100 words in your copy, while keeping your message clear and easy to understand.

Sign to your Blogger account and then look out for the Layout panel of your blog, click on Edit HTML.

Click on Download Full Template and save a backup copy of your template. This will come in handy to undo any changes in case the changes do not work as expected
Look for the following code by pressing Ctrl+F in the template:

Add the following code immediately after the code

Replace the http://myurl.blogspot.com/ line with the URL of your blog top page.

Replace the word MY DESCRIPTION with a description for your blog top page.

Replace the word MY KEYWORDS with a list of keywords separated by commas, relevant to your blog top page.

You would need to to follow the steps 4 to 7 - for adding corresponding URL’s, descriptions and keywordsfor for all the individual posts from your blog. For example, if your first article is about cruiser bikes, you’ll need to as follows.
Replace the http://myurl.blogspot.com/ line with http://myurl.blogspot.com/cruiserbikes.html.

Replace the word MY DESCRIPTION with description of cruiser bikes.

Replace the word MY KEYWORDS with keywords such as bikes, cruiser bikes, harley davidson etc. that best suits your site or blog.

Please ensure that all the individual posts have titles and descriptions matching the page content. This will help you from preventing your posts to go in Google Sandbox.

Even if you have to cut and paste them into the HTML of every page and then edit them, it's time well spent when the spiders and crawlers come calling or use our onsite meta tag generator to assist you.

Welcome to San Andreas...

Grove Street OG's Grove Street OG's

Grove Street Families are a diminishing gang in Los Santos, San Andreas. Everyday, their men get capped, the Ballas gain strength and Grove Street get weaker. Things have slowly gotten worse since Carl Johnson (Grove Street OG) left Los Santos for a new life in Liberty City five years ago. Sweet is Carl's older brother, and heads up the Grove Street gang. Sweet blames Carl for the death of their younger brother Brian who was involved in an unfortunate accident all those years ago. Lack of weaponary, poor health because of drugs, a rapidly decreasing rate of respect and betrayal--have all led to Grove Street's downfall. Grove Street OG's Big Smoke and Ryder, are trying to setup a new drug business with the Loco Syndicate. The Loco Syndicate is run by Mike Toreno, a shady CIA agent. Jizzy B and T-Bone Mendez are also involved. Sweet refuses to take part, saying that it would damage the hood.

C.R.A.S.H LSPD's anti-gang uni

There is only one type of crime in Los Santos. Gang crime. It is upto Los Santos' anti-gang unit (known as C.R.A.S.H) to end gangbanging and keep the city under control. The unit is led by Officer Frank Tenpenny and includes Officer Eddie Pulaski, and the unit's newest recruit Jimmy Hernandez. Tenpenny and Pulaski are corrupt. The two cops believe that sometimes in order to get what you want, you have to work with the people you don't like, doing things that aren't exactly right. They pressurise Hernandez into killing Officer Ralph Pendelburry, who threatened to expose their methods.

Salvatore Leone Don Salvatore Leone

In Liberty City - Carl Johnson is working for Joey Leone, and meanwhile Johnny Sindacco visits the Gentlemen's Club to offer Salvatore Leone stakes at a casino in Venturas. This involves Salvatore pledging $5,000,000 to the Sindacco's. The two gangs cannot decide who should run the casino and so Ken Rosenberg (once working with the Forelli's down in Vice) is put forward as a neutral party. Rosenberg is stuck in the middle of 3 mob families, and if one mob hits another, the opposition will eliminate Ken. Also in Venturas, Triads have purchased the Four Dragons Casino but the Sindacco's are looking to sabotage it's opening.

Carl is arrested Carl is arrested

Balla OG's decide that it's time to finish off Grove Street. The plan is to cap Grove Street's leader, Sweet. The hit is made, but instead, Beverly Johnson is killed, and Sweet survives. Sweet calls Carl to announce his mother's death, and Carl begins a journey back to his home town in Los Santos. Carl is welcomed by Officer Tenpenny, who has bullied Carl since before his leave for Liberty City. Carl is escorted to Front Yard Ballas territory, and later thrown from a moving police car. Carl finds himself dragged back into the gang life that he apparently once tried to leave behind. Welcome to San Andreas... San Andreas is set in the early 1990's--a very important time in Los Angeles' history. The story focuses on the famous LA riots and the related rampart scandal. This involved a corrupt police force known as C.R.A.S.H, terrorising Los Angeles. The rampart scandal was ignited by Officer Rafael Perez--perhaps the base of Officer Tenpenny's character. "The Introduction" DVD is exclusively available with purchase of the San Andreas Official Soundtrack Double CD.

Everyone is in a hurry to get their site online or meet a launch deadline. Before you publish and submit your site you should know the top ten seo mistakes most site builders make. Optimize your pages before you submit them.

1) Non-descriptive page titles - if you use a WYSIWYG editor, it may be titling your pages the same as the page name. Pages with the same title on the domain will not get listed. The search engines see them as duplicate pages and won't index past the same title twice. Use a short 7-9 word descriptive title for each page and make sure each page title on your site is unique. What do you think is a better title for your page:
a. Home Page -or- b. Blue Solar Lighted Widgets That Play Music

2) No meta tags in page - If you don't put a description meta tag on your page and it gets listed, it will list the first few words of copy on your page. Keyword meta tags are not read anymore by most major search engines and just putting a keyword in a keyword meta tag will not you listed for that keyword.
3) Thinking if you build it, they will come - you watch too many movies... here's your reality check. Submitting your site to the search engines is not enough. Without good optimization efforts, you can't compete for keyword rankings on a global basis.
4) It has to be pretty - that depends largely on the purpose of the site. For the most part, design is subjective. What looks good to one person is unattractive to the next. The search engines don't care what your graphics or animation or color scheme is. It just has to be well organized, well-written, user friendly, consistent, logical to navigate, provide a valuable service and be 'sticky'. Killer sites aren't just aesthetically pleasing, they are highly useful, well planned and easy for the search engines to crawl. The design grabs their attention, the content keeps it.
5) Too much animation - Animation has it's place and can be quite clever and appropriate on a lot of sites if used to the best advantage, but too much of it is unnecessary and will aggravate visitors. Never use blinking text or pop up ads... how do you like them?
6) Cannot resize text - When you build a site you have to take into consideration that the web is not print. It's a movable media that displays differently on each monitor. To be useful, you have to offer options to your visitors. If you use .css, you need to specify the text in .em instead of .pt for the vision impaired and Mac users.
7) Different design for each page or section - How will your visitors know they are still on your site if it's pages are not consistent? You can guarantee consistency by placing navigation in the same place on each page and your logo in the same spot at the top of the page. If you have expandable menu items, put them on every page of your site in the same place. Your visitors will expect it to be there and it's not user centered if they have to learn a new navigation system for each section. Use consistent navigation on every page. A different design and way to navigate it for each section is confusing.
8) Background Music - A different twangy .midi song on each page that loads is the most aggravating thing on the internet. Even an on/off button is aggravating if it has to be used for every page load. Unless it's a presentation that the visitor selects, sound has no place on a professional site and what good does it do to optimize for maximum traffic if you alienate your visitor...
9) Poor maintenance - Orphaned pages are pages in your site that have one way links or no links to other pages. Outdated and poorly written pages with broken links could affect getting your site indexed. A lot of broken internal and external links could keep your site from getting indexed.
10) Main focus - You can have several topics on your site, and indeed you should have for interest and support. But there should only be one main focus that tells what your site is all about. One main subject that lets your visitor know exactly what most of your content is. What is the purpose of your site? Spell it out with your headlines, tag line and graphics. If it's not apparent by looking at the main page, your visitors have no reason to dig deeper.
There are a lot more mistakes site builders can make, some biggies and some minor, but correcting the ones listed here will make the biggest impact on your site as a whole and the ability to get it listed properly, and they're so easy to correct.

Its an efficient way to increase the link popularity of your website and to receive some extra traffic. It would be cumbersome, however, if you needed to manually bookmark your posts on every single site out there.
OnlyWire is a web tool that will automatically save your posts on several bookmarking sites, including:
  • Backflip
  • Blue Dot
  • Blinklist
  • Delicious
  • Furl
  • Magnolia
  • Rawsugar
  • Shadows
  • Simpy
  • Spurl
  • Wink

You will need to create an account on those bookmarking sites before using the service. Once you do that just configure your OnlyWire account with the different users and passwords for each bookmarking site and that is it.
Here are some steps to start with:
  1. Register a free OnlyWire account.
  2. After logging into your OnlyWire account, you will be asked to submit the username and password of the social bookmark sites. 15 of them, but you don’t need to fill in all. ;)
  3. Save your logins.
  4. Drag a OnlyWire bookmark link to your web browser’s toolbar. You will use the link to bookmark your site using OnlyWire.
This screen will appear after clicking onlywire bookmark page: Now everything you have done and enjoy................... :)
